    5. False
Properties of an ideal or perfect gas:
  • The gas molecules are in constant random motion. They travel in a straight line until they collide with another molecule or the wall of the container.
  • There is no attraction or repulsion between the gas molecules.
  • The gas particles are point masses having infinitely small sizes with no volume.
  • All the collisions are elastic. No energy is gained or lost during the collision.
  • All gases at a given temperature have the same average kinetic energy.
  • Follow all the 3 gas laws perfectly
  • 1 mole of an ideal gas occupies 22.4 L volume at STP
  • Hydrogen is the only gas that can be considered closest to being ideal due to its small molecular weight.
